Every LA Explained tour is built from archival research, architectural history, neighborhood stories, cultural context and the details that usually disappear between the landmarks.
We connect buildings to the people who lived in them, streets to the forces that changed them, and individual neighborhoods to the much larger story of Los Angeles.
The goal is simple: after walking with us, you should never see the city quite the same way again.

Walking Tour FAQs
Who are LA Explained walking tours for?
Curious locals, visitors, architecture lovers, history buffs, film fans, photographers and anyone who wants to understand Los Angeles beyond the usual sightseeing checklist. Many guests are longtime Angelenos who are surprised by how much of their own city they have never noticed.
How long are the tours?
Most public tours run approximately 90 to 150 minutes depending on the route. Each individual tour page lists its expected duration, distance and difficulty so you can choose the experience that best fits you.
How much walking is involved?
Routes vary by neighborhood. Some are relatively flat while hillside tours may include stairs, inclines and uneven sidewalks. Comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection and light layers are strongly recommended.
Where do tours meet?
Your exact meeting point, map link, parking guidance and arrival instructions are included in your post-purchase confirmation. Please plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes. Most routes are available for private groups, and custom experiences can be developed for corporate groups, visitors, schools, clients and special occasions. Contact us with your preferred neighborhood, group size and timing.
Do tours go inside private homes?
Unless a tour page specifically says otherwise, residential architecture is viewed from public streets and sidewalks. Access to public landmarks or interiors can vary by operating hours, events and conditions on the day of the tour.
